Invidente Zurdo
Nos complace mostrar una pequeña entrevista que hicimos a una extraordinaria banda de Black Metal de Noruega. Como todos sabemos, en tiempos de pandemia, las herramientas virtuales se potencializan y nos acercan a otras latitudes. Así fue que aprovechamos estos momentos y le robamos un poco de su tiempo a estos talentosos músicos…
Ponemos la charla en español en primer instancia y al final la original en inglés, de manera resumida, primero las preguntas y después las respuestas…
Ocioltura. ¿La escena en Noruega, en cuanto al metal, ¿continúa creciendo o permaneciendo en algunos círculos? Quiero decir, a las nuevas generaciones de Escandinavia les gusta escuchar este tipo de música o sus gustos van en otra dirección …
Uburen. La escena del metal en Noruega todavía está viva, aunque no es tan fuerte en el lado del black metal. Entre los adolescentes en Noruega, creo que el death metal o hardcore es más popular. Todavía hay algunos que entran en el black metal.
Ocioltura. Alguna vez abordarán en sus letras, temas más sociables como lo que está sucediendo con esta nueva enfermedad, el racismo que aún prevalece en el planeta, protestas sobre el cambio climático, etc…
Uburen. Entiendo. Tenemos canciones que retratan nuestra opinión sobre diferentes temas. Y algunas canciones que fueron escritas para ciertos eventos. Por ejemplo, una de nuestras canciones fue escrita en memoria y en honor de un amigo que murió de suicidio. Pero este tipo de temas están ocultos en las metáforas. No nos consideramos una banda política. Depende del oyente interpretar la canción y comprenderla. Lo que pensamos, cuando lo escribimos y lo que el oyente entiende no tiene que ser lo mismo. Solo queremos que las personas puedan encontrar su propio significado en nuestras palabras.
Ocioltura. Y entrando en la música, ¿qué vemos en sus conciertos? ¿Es un setlist clásico o ya han renovado algo de esto?
Uburen. Al asistir a un concierto de Uburen, experimentarás la finalización de la música y las letras interpretadas en un estado mucho más fuerte. Cuando tocamos nuestra música, se libera toda la energía de la música y el significado de la letra toma su forma y nosotros, los miembros somos la encarnación de estos elementos.
Ocioltura. Finalmente, cuando salga su nuevo álbum, nos pueden dar un avance; un poco de lo que está pasando con este material. ¿Se mantendrán fieles a su estilo y forma de ver las cosas?
Uburen. Actualmente estamos trabajando en un nuevo álbum que aún no tiene una fecha de lanzamiento prevista. No estamos buscando crear nada «nuevo», simplemente dejamos que la música tome su forma natural. Dejar que se forme solo. Es por eso que no podemos establecer una fecha de lanzamiento porque no podemos forzar que la música y las letras encajen en sus respectivos lugares. No creamos música después de una receta…

The scene in Norway, as for the metal, continues to grow or remain in some circles? I mean, new generations of Scandinavia like to hear this kind of music or their tastes go by another direction …About the 2 questions, basically, is if they would ever address in their lyrics, more sociable topics such as what is happening with this new disease, the racism that still prevails on the planet, protests about climate change, etc. And entering into music, what will we see in their concerts? Is it a classic setlist or have they already renovated some of this? Finally, when your new album comes out and if you can advance a little of what this material is going. Will they remain true to their style and way of looking at things? In advance I thank you for your patience and answers to this short interview …

1. The metal scene in Norway is still alive although it’s not that strong on the black metal side. Amongst teenagers in Norway I think death metal or hardcore is more popular. There is still some that get into the black metal. 2 and 3. Ah ok Now I understand. We have songs that portray our view on different topics. And some songs that were written for certain events. For example 1 of our songs was written in memory and honor of a friend that died of suicide. But these type of topics are hidden in metaphors. We dont consider ourselves a political band. It is up the the listener to interpret the song and understand. What we thought when we wrote it and what the listener understands dont have to be the same thing. We just want people to be able to find their own meaning in our words
4. Coming to a uburen concert you will experience a completion of the music and lyrics performed in a much stronger state. When we play our music all the energy from the music is released and the meaning of the lyrics takes its form and we the members are the embodiment of these elements
5. We are currently working on a new album which doesn’t have a planned release date yet. We are not looking at creating anything «new» we just let the music take its natural form. Let it shape itself. That’s why we cant set a release date because we cant force the music and lyrics to fit into places. We dont create music after a recipe.
